Thinking Cookies, Augusta!

So, you may be wondering how my Masters week turned out...
Well, that followed by Easter is why you haven't heard from me in awhile.  I was BUSY!  I ended up doing over 400 cookies for local businesses, various hospitality houses and boxed lunches, and I could've done twice that much, I'm sure.  A lot of them...MOST of them were for VeryVera.  I picked up a new retail location along the way as well.  Neapolitan Cupcakes is now carrying Sweet B's cookies.  I'm excited about working with Molly!  Her cupcakes are fabulous!  So, for all your cupcake needs, hop on over to her cute shoppe and she will hook you up.
Back to the cookies...
If you were around last year, you saw a picture similar to this -
The difference is, last year, the cookies I did only took up half of the table.  This year, the table looked like this...three times over.
The thing about this little bugger, is that often times, Florida would break off before the cookie was baked.  Most of the time, I could re-attach Florida to the rest of the states, but there was the one time that it successfully separated from the Union.
Of course, I just iced him for the fun of it.
I did several boxed sets for hospitality houses.
A box of boxes to be delivered.

You may ask how I kept up with all the orders that were flying through the kitchen.
I commandeered my niece's art easel.
Hey - it worked!

This is THE last cookie of it's kind.  Somehow, after all the orders had been filled, even the last minute ones I somehow managed, one still remained.
He's still sitting in my workroom...for posterity's sake.

Next year...I will be better prepared for the crazy cookie rush that Augusta had with these.
I'm starting to make dough now...ha!

As always,
Think cookies.

Happy Easter, Y'all!

I hope that your day has been as wonderful as mine...
I put on a pretty dress...went to sing and fellowship and hear the meaning of Easter...ate lots of food, cooked by loving hands...took a nap (sigh)...enjoyed watching my sister work, while I just sat on the couch, playing my new addicting game on my phone...caught up on some of the blogs that I've been missing, while watching my nieces play in the front yard...and now, I'm sitting here writing, on the front porch, with the sweet sounds of nature around me.  (The cicadas have quieted for the moment.  They were so loud earlier, I had a bit of trouble taking my nap.)  It's been a good day.
And now...enough about me. Here's what you're really here for...the cookies. (ha.)

I won't be sitting around much next week, so I'm enjoying it while I can!

As always,
Think Cookies.

Consumed By Cookies and Taxes

That's right. Taxes.
Here's a short little note to tell you that I am still alive and baking.
In addition to the craziness of the Masters, followed by the Easter Eggstravaganza, I was employed by a tax company for this tax season. And, if you know anything about me, I'm sure you're shocked. Taxes, I don't know much about, but the tax software company that Ive been using for the past 4 years, I was able to help people navigate through the program, via email. It was a fun adventure, but now I get to focus on cookies! Yay!!
So, here are a few pictures that I will be telling you more about as soon as possible. Sorry for the silence, but thanks for sticking around!!

Also, I have a new web address and email address.  You can still get to me with the old addresses, so don't fret about that.  But for passing my name along, just Think Cookies...

Always Thinking Cookies,

Happy What Day?!

Happy Match Day!
That's right.  Happy Match Day!  I know that it is St. Patrick's day too, but this year, dear ol' St. Patty has to share his day with Match Day.  If you're not familiar with Match Day, you must not know many med students, because to a med student, today is a BIG day.  Maybe even bigger than graduation.  Today is the day that all across the country, 4th year med students find out where they will be spending their residency.  It happens every year, the third Thursday of March.
I happen to have a good friend whose husband's (and hers too!) fate is determined today.
She asked for cookies to celebrate the occasion.
And I was happy to oblige!

So, to Richard and all the other med students out there -
Luck o' the Irish to ya!
May your matches come true.

A Jar Full of Cookies

I just realized that I never posted Julianne Rose's first set of cookies.  (I can be a bit of a space cadet every once and awhile, if you haven't noticed.)
And I was really excited about these, because all the doodles were new doodles!

The same day, I did "Thinking of You" cookies in red and black.  (A dawg fan, of course.)

Both jars went to work with Bonnie.

So, no matter the occassion, think cookies!!

Cute Cookie Crosses

I had the pleasure of doing cookies for Julianne, again!  I made some for her mom and dad when she was born not to long ago, and now I got to make some for her baptism.
I was excited because I've never done crosses before!
With a middle name of Rose, I had to draw a few on the crosses.

So sweet!  I hope they enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed making them!
Thanks, Michael and Leslie!

More Bake Love

I would feel guilty if I didn't mention that the bakelove t-shirt that I mentioned in my previous post is brought to you by Bakerella.  A genius.  She has made cake pops famous with her baking blog.  And now even has her own book.  Her site is fun to look at.  If you're not familiar with her, you should take a gander.

Another one of favorite blogs to look at is i am baker.  I'm am always blown away at her creations.  Usually, when I see her pictures, I say - out loud - "Ri-diii-cu-lousss".  It's ridiculous that amount of talent and creativity this woman has, AND she has a family!  (She has another blog, too, called i am mommy, but the baking one appeals to me more. ha.)  It was on her blog that I saw the idea for this cake I made for a friend of the family for Valentine's Day.  (iambaker did it better, but I still think mine is pretty cute.)

iambaker did the roses all over.  It was soo pretty.  You should go look at it (click the "roses all over").

Well, now that Valentine's Day is over, I'm on to St. Patrick's Day...with some orders in between.  So, as always, I'm happy baking.
