A Tale of Two Birthdays...

...And their cakes and cookies!
So, my princess niece turned 7 this month.  I'm always pretty excited about it because I get to do a cake with matching cookies.  Last year, I made quite the cake for a 6 year old's birthday party.  (You can see it here.)
This year, we decided on butterflies.  The week before the party, she asked me everyday if I was working on her cookies and cake.  I think she was excited.
And rightfully so!  What seven year old wouldn't be excited about these?!
She loved them, to say the least.
After I thought I was done icing it, Bonnie asked me if I could put a "7" somewhere on it...after a bit of debate, the sevens ended up on the side with the flowers.  I think it worked!
I enjoy the creative freedom I always have when doing her cake and cookies!

At Carlee Anne's party, I snagged another order of cake with matching cookies.  Suh-weet!  The mom said she knew I was good at the girly stuff, but could I whip something up for her 7 year old son....of course I can!!  Especially since it was golf themed.
If I can't do golf themed stuff, I should move out of Augusta!

Hope Ethan had fun at Putt Putt!!
As always, I love doing matching cake and cookies!!!

Aiken Bridal Show!

Well, I survived my first Bridal Show.  On Monday, I get an email from Vera asking me if I want to do some example cookies and stand in the booth for the Aiken Bridal Show.  Um...let me think...YES!!!  Vera set up a beautiful buffet table scape in her booth and let Sweet B's have an entire 5 foot round table to herself!  I was so nervous setting up (I've never done anything like this) and speaking to people, at first.  But once I started seeing how receptive people were to me, I gained some confidence and ended up having a fabulous time.  I met some great ladies and gave out A LOT of business cards.  Thanks so much to VeryVera  for letting me have one of their tables!!!
My Setup

(I'll post better pictures of these later, so you can see the details.)
 Samples!!
Vera's booth
This is my "What have I gotten myself into?!" smile.  By the end of the day, I had a "This was so worth my time and effort" smile on.  I can't wait to see what kind of response I get!  I'll let you know!

This is Not a Football Blog

If you're an Auburn fan, today's a pretty big day.  (They're playing for the national championship tonight.)  Now, if you haven't noticed, I'm a Georgia fan...don't think I've changed my allegiance just because I make football cookies that come in colors other than red and black.

I made these cookies for Auburn's homecoming back in November.

The bottom right cookie is fashioned after the tradition of toilet papering Toomer's Corner after a win.

This was for the one Bama fan that was going to be at the party but refused to eat an Auburn cookie.

So, even though I'm not an Auburn fan, I'll be pulling for the tigers tonight.  SEC all the way!

Tiles in Teal!

I've still been doing the new baby cookies.  These 2 sets went with my friend, Morgan to North Carolina.

For the second set, I did more of a teal than baby blue.  I love it when people tell me to do whatever color I want...and chances are, teal will be involved.
Yup.  I love them.  They make me smile.

I hope the new moms loved them too!

Cookies on the Auction Block

So, for something new and different, I was given the opportunity to participate in the Junior Leaugue Golf Tournament silent auction.  I thought it would be a fun opportunity to show off several different styles of cookies I do.

Thanks, Kristen, for asking me to participate!  It was fun!

FINALLY!

So, pretty much my entire holiday season was a blur.  And now that it's a new year, I've got some time to catch up!  Yay!  I'm getting back on the bloggin' wagon.  Here's just a recap of the holiday cookies I did and didn't get to show you...(yes, I know I'm a little behind)...

Selling my holiday cookies at Very Vera (AND working there) kept me pretty busy.  And I'm already working on my Valentine's designs!  But for now, I'm happy blogging...finally!
