Comfort Cookies

As you know, I love cookies.  And I love colors.  And I love giving colorful cookies.
You may think of giving cookies when you're throwing a birthday party or baby shower or celebrating something special.  But I also think of cookies when I don't have the words to say.
A friend of mine recently lost someone very dear to her.  And my heart hurt for her.  I'm not good with words when it comes to tough situations.  I have a great shoulder to cry on, but I'm not so eloquent when it comes to saying the best words to comfort.   But I know what I can do, I can make cookies.  And I know my cookies make people smile.  So, when the question came up of what we should do for our friend, I said - I'll make cookies!  Now, I know that cookies can't make everything better, but if my cookies provide a smile, even if only for a moment, during a time of grief, then my purpose was accomplished.
So, I hope that these cookies made her smile...because I know I loved decorating them!!  Ok, enough of the Debbie Downer stuff...here are the cookies.
I did a combo of flowers and paisleys.  In fun colors, of course.

Yup, you guessed it, these are my favorites.

To this family, I love you guys and hope the cookies brightened your day.

Even in tough situations, think cookies.

Cookies That Say "Aaarrgh!"

So, you know that I love a theme. Well, when one of my frequent customers asked me to do a pirate theme, how excited do you think I was?! I got to have lots of fun with these!

And I got to use my special cookie markers again to draw the treasure map!!

Ashlee sent me a picture of how she displayed the cookies and I loved it!!
So cute!

Thanks, Ashlee, for giving me the opportunity and I'm soo glad you enjoyed them!

Crafty Cookies

I've had the chance recently to meet some pretty amazing and talented women here in the Augusta area.  Dream Come Tutus, Sew Devine, and of course, Neapolitan Cupcakes to name a few.  Another creative crafter is ArtsAnneCrafts.  She recently asked me to do some logo cookies for her.  Her logo is so cute, I had to say yes.

She does everything from gifts tags, hair bows, to hand painted ornaments.
Check out her talent here.

And I got to use tools I've never used before.
Markers.
Yup.  I drew her logo on those cookies.
(They make special markers for that.)
I've had the markers for awhile now and finally put them to use!

So, thanks, Anne, for the opportunity!

As always, think cookies.

Oh What Fun...

Oh, what fun this summer is!  Can you tell I'm having so much fun I've forgotten to blog?!
Well, I haven't forgotten to make cookies.  I've still been at that!
My latest project was for Samuel, who just turned one.  I made cookie favors and a 6" cake just for him to dig into. I loved the blue and I think they turned out so festive!
They were designed to match the invites.  (You can view the invite here.)
I'm hoping that he had so much fun at his party!  I'm so glad mom and dad enjoyed the cake and cookies!  Thanks for thinking cookies, Rachel!

Hope you are having a fun summer!

As always,
Think cookies!

Cookies on the Lane

You know how much I love a theme, so when I was asked to do cake and cookies for a bowling party, I was game!
Other than the dino cake I did last year, this is the only time I've carved a shape out of cake.  I really wish that I had taken pictures of the cake step-by-step.  It was a lot of fun to watch it come together.

I hope the birthday boy got a strike!

Cookies and Cupcakes!

I met someone.
Someone who makes phenomenal cupcakes.   (Hope I didn't get your hopes up, mom.)
Her name is Molly.
She has this cute cupcake shoppe and boutique on the corner of Washington and Pleasant Home in Augusta.
She sells all sorts of cute cupcake-themed gifts...and of course, cupcakes.
Tuesdays are Mango Tango days...I might have to stop by today to satisfy the craving I've now stirred up.
You can visit her website to view all the other amazing flavors she offers.

She also sells these -
Cookies made by Sweet B!

So, you can think cookies AND cupcakes!
For all your cupcake needs, Molly will surely help you out.

And when you're thinking cookies...
I'll be here!

Think cookies.

Cookie Bliss

So, there's this cute salon in the Summerville area in Augusta.  It's adorable.
It happens to be where I get my hair cut.  The exciting thing is that Mary, the owner, knew about Sweet B's cookies even before I started going to see Brittany at her salon.  Isn't that cool?!  People are talking about me!  In a good way!
Well, Mary wanted some cookies with her logo on them to pass out to the other businesses around the area to let them know about Bliss.  I was happy to oblige!
(Told you is was cute.  It's even cuter inside.  And blissful.)

So...I am extremely proud of these.  I didn't think I was going to be able to put the flower on it without it looking wonky.  (Yes, that's a technical cookie term.  Just trust me.)

But it worked!

The funny thing is, I did these in the midst of making the 400 Augusta cookies.  So, they were a nice break from yellow and green!!
Thanks so much, Mary, for thinking cookies!  I'll be happy to bring you cookie bliss anytime!
And I'll see you next week, Brittany!

As always,
Think Cookies.
