Pan Shots

So, lately, I've been bad about not taking pictures of my cookies, which in turn means I don't have great pictures to post on the blog...hence, this post consisting only of "pan shots". No glitz, no glamour - just cookies. Without further ado - I give you pink lobsters.  (squeel!!)

I picked up several new cutters the other weekend when I was down in Beaufort, SC...one of them was a lobster and I was pretty stoked about it.  So, when a friend of mine wanted some cookies for a friend's birthday and said it didn't matter what shape, I *jokingly* suggested lobsters.  She said it was fine as long as they were girly - so I put bows on them!  Hahaha! 

These were used to give the "scoop" on a new arrival! 

These were for a new baby cookie jar. I never thought I would enjoy using grey icing so much!

These were for an event held at the Home Depot in Aiken, SC....the assistant manager and coordinator of the event said, when she saw them, "they brought a smile to my stressed out week!".  And that email brought a smile to my stressed out week!

Thanks for putting up with my "pat shots" and I'll try to do better!

June Anne

So, one of my frequent customers, Kristen, has ordered and received Sweet B's for some time now.  My sister gave her Sweet B's when she completed her master's degree.  She has celebrated her birthday with Sweet B's.  Whenever she goes on vacation, she orders some iced whites to take with her.  (In fact, she's one of the reasons I started offering iced whites!) 

Well, Kristen just had a baby.  And of course, I wanted to welcome her sweet baby June Anne to the world with some sweetness.  But, since it was Kristen, who was already a big fan of Sweet B's, I knew that her new-mommy cookies had to be above and beyond any cookies that she had received in the past.  And I was excited to do them...like sooo excited...and here's why...

Did you squeal?

Because that's what Kristen did when she saw them.

The pearls were inspired because Kristen's sweet husband gave her a strand of pearls thanking her for bringing his precious daughter into this world. (*swoon*)

I picked pink, green, and white as colors just because I thought it suited Kristen.

As it turns out, those are June Anne's colors!!

I wish I had videoed Kristen when I brought them in her house.

She was excited...to say the least.

I showed a little cookie on a few of these...I know it's a little scandalous.

I can honestly say that it was hard to give these away.  Most of the time, I love giving my creations away to the customer.  I confess that I wanted to keep these for a little while longer.

Sigh.  I'm glad I took a lot of pictures, because I still love looking at them!

I'm so glad Jason and Kristen enjoyed their cookies, because I SO enjoyed making them!!!

And of course, I loved meeting Baby June Anne, who was more precious than the cookies!

I hope these cookies will make you forget that I haven't posted in 2 weeks (whoopsie!).  Even if I'm not posting, I'm always...

Twosie Sets of Onesies

I hope you don't get tired of seeing onesies...because I don't get tired of making them!  They are probably one of my most favorite cookies to do.  (Of course, my favorite cookie list is pretty long.)  Here are a few of the recent onesies I've fallen in love with.

My Daddy Always Says...

So, sometimes I spend a chunk of my day looking at other people's cookie creations.  That may sound like a confession, but I like to call it "research".  Some of my favorites right now are JP Creatibles (love, Love, LOVE everything she does), Cupookie (check out her henna cookies - ahh-mazing!) and I just found Casey's Confections (she's brilliant!).  Looking at other people's work used to get me down at how much better their work is.  But now, I just let it motivate me to try new things.  I've been realizing that I need to spend more time with my #1 icing tip.  Not my favorite.  It's the smallest.  (Well, actually, there's smaller, #0 and even #00, but I'm in denial that those exist, for now.)  My daddy always says, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always be what you've always been."  And I definitely want to keep growing as a cookie artist, which means I gotta try new stuffs!

Well, I've added a new shape to my baby collection.  A rattle!  The cutter I used is actually a dog bone, I just straightened up the ends.  (They make actual rattle cutters, I would just have to order it and I keep forgetting about that one when I've ordered recently!) 

Yay for a new shape!!  And having the patience with the #1 tip!!

A Jar Full of Cookies

I just realized that I never posted Julianne Rose's first set of cookies.  (I can be a bit of a space cadet every once and awhile, if you haven't noticed.) 

And I was really excited about these, because all the doodles were new doodles!

The same day, I did "Thinking of You" cookies in red and black.  (A dawg fan, of course.)

Both jars went to work with Bonnie. 

So, no matter the occassion, think cookies!!

Little Boy Blue

So, I love making the baby onesies, if you didn't know.  I made 7 dozen of them for a new mom back in Columbus.  She gave them out as thank you's to her doctors and nurses.

This was the first time I did them in baby blue!

Pink and Brown, All Around

I think brown is favorite secondary color for baby cookies.  Baby pink or baby blue and brown.  Love it.  These are no exception.  They're especially cute with a little bit of monkey business!

Tiles in Teal!

I've still been doing the new baby cookies.  These 2 sets went with my friend, Morgan to North Carolina.

For the second set, I did more of a teal than baby blue.  I love it when people tell me to do whatever color I want...and chances are, teal will be involved.

 Yup.  I love them.  They make me smile.  

I hope the new moms loved them too!
